TRASH TO TREASURED

See this broken childs rocking chair? Well, I saw it laying by the side of the road and I got really excited. I like free things, and cute free things.
I looked around to see if anyone was around ( I am not a big fan of people seeing me root through trash ;) and then I whipped it in my car and drove off.

I realized when I got it out of the car that is was broken and missing the rocking part on the other side. I was a bit disappointed but I knew I could still make use of it. It was too dang cute. Plus, Miss Annabelle had already fallen in love with it.

Ok- so here is what I did. I bought a hack saw, cut the legs off, spray painted it and distressed it. Don't you think it made an adorable children's chair?

Ooooh, I just LOVE it!!

I am not the only one that loves it either. Annabelle adores it and it quite obsessed with it. She HAS to sit in it while she watches her show in the morning while I blog. :)
I will find her sitting in it reading one of her books or hugging a doll. She just LOVES it too.
I would say it's safe to say that we both now treasure it.

I LOVE a good trash to treasure story. Don't you?

Seriously you are amazing... I only WISH I had a shred of your talent...that chair is stinkin cute...I would be the person in this scenario throwing the chair away because it was broke! :)

Clever girl, you! I love it. I'm like Shelle, I would be the one who would throw away the chair because it's broken..LOL. And yes, I love your trash turned into treasure story.

Thanks for sharing Emily...you're inspiring me everyday to be a little more creative when I look at things I thought might be a lost cost.

Wow! The chair is adorable. I completely lack vision for stuff like that. I'm quite jealous right now.

Destiny- thank you and seriously, it was sooo easy to do. Go to Goodwill or some garage sales, I'll bet you would find something awesome to redo ;)

Emily! I've been a fan of your artsy blog from day one. :) I even told Ben how impressed I was with how much you've accomplished in such a short amount of time. Nicely done!

There is something to be said about the sense of accomplishment that somes from a project such as your chair.

You can't buy that in a furniture store! Plus, it's over the moon charming and your daughter loves it!

I loved the chair...The huge screen tv in the middle of a beautiful room was not pleasing....
I wish they would make them look better....

So, apparently the anonymous person thinks they are a decorator! The chair looks nice would have been enough of a comment, no need for the rest. Emily, I LOVE the chair, your "big" TV, and your gorgeous room!!!!!

Thanks T- I knew you'd have my back :) And yeah- whoever Anonymous is...get a life!!! Like your mother probably told you a million times... "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all!"
Oh and don't be a coward...tell us who you really are.
